Abstract

A self-stacking helical conveyor (10) including drum (28) supported for rotation on a vertical axis (30), an endless belt (12) trained about the drum (28) in vertically successive helical tiers, beginning with a bottom tier, and having a width spanning a central load bearing portion (14) and opposite side edge portions (15, 16). The belt (12) includes a plurality of successive conveyor sections (78) interconnected for pivotal and translational movement relative to each other. Each of the conveyor sections (78) includes a pair of spaced upstanding supports (82) secured at the opposite side edge portions (15, 16) of the belt, each of the supports having a top detent formation (88d). A bottom detent formation (92) is provided under each of said upstanding supports (82). A supporting assembly is associated with the drum to support the bottom tier and the others of the helical tiers are supported by engagement of the bottom detent formations (92) with the top detent formations (88d) on the spaced upstanding supports (82) in an adjacent underlying tier of the belt.

L'invention concerne un transporteur hélicoïdal (10) à auto-empilage comprenant un tambour (28) supporté de manière à tourner sur un axe vertical (30), une bande sans fin (12) entraînée sur le tambour (28) en étages hélicoïdaux successifs depuis un étage inférieur et présentant une largeur couvrant une partie porteuse centrale (14) et les parties latérales opposées (15, 16). La bande (12) comporte une pluralité d'éléments (78) de transporteur reliés entre eux de sorte qu'ils décrivent un mouvement de translation et de pivot les uns par rapport aux autres. Chaque élément du transporteur (78) comprend une paire de supports verticaux espacés (82) fixés au niveau des parties latérales opposées (15, 16) de la bande, et présentant chacun un élément d'encliquetage supérieur (88d). Un élément d'encliquetage inférieur (92) est prévu au-dessous de chaque support vertical (82). Un ensemble de support est associé au tambour pour supporter l'étage inférieur, les autres étages hélicoïdaux étant supportés par encliquetage des éléments d'encliquetage inférieurs (92) avec les éléments d'encliquetage supérieurs (88d) sur les supports verticaux (82) espacés dans un étage adjacent au-dessous de la bande.
