An air flow rate measuring apparatus for measuring a suction air volume for an internal combustion engine by using an output from a thermal type air flow meter wherein an output signal from the thermal type air flow meter is inversely transformed into a signal corresponding to a true flow rate and wherein the signal so inversely transformed is linearized based on the characteristics of the thermal type air flow meter so as to obtain an air flow rate, thereby making it possible to accurately measure a pulsating air flow rate.

La présente invention concerne un dispositif de mesure du volume d'air aspiré par un moteur à combustion interne. Le procédé consiste à utiliser une sortie en provenance d'un débitmètre à air de type thermique. En l'occurrence, un signal de sortie provenant d'un débitmètre à air de type thermique subit une transformation inverse pour restituer un signal correspondant au débit vrai. Les caractéristiques du débitmètre à air de type thermique permettent ensuite de linéariser le signal ainsi transformé par inversion, et de donner la mesure du débit d'air. Grâce à ce procédé on obtient une mesure exacte d'un débit d'air pulsé.
