Abstract

A toxin assay that uses a substrate for cleavage by the toxin and antibodies that do not recognise the substrate but recognise and bind to the product of cleavage of the substrate by the toxin. The substrate can be a nerve cell peptide when the assay is for botulinum toxin or tetanus toxin.

Le dosage de toxines selon la présente invention fait intervenir un substrat destiné au clivage par la toxine et des anticorps ne reconnaissant pas le substrat, mais reconnaissant et établissant une liaison avec le produit obtenu après le clivage du substrat par la toxine. Le substrat peut être un peptide des cellules nerveuses lorsque le dosage porte sur la toxine botulinique ou la tétanique.
