Abstract

Method for the removal of colouring materials as iron and halogens from hydrochloric acid. Among the halogens it is especially chlorine and bromine that contribute to the colour. Iron is first removed from the hydrochloric acid preferably by filtration and ion exchange and thereafter a nitrogen containing reducing agent is added to the acid. It is preferred to use compounds containing hydroxyl amine, preferably hydroxylamine hydrochloride (hydroxyl ammoniumchloride). The reducing agent is added in a stoichiometric excess.

Procédé de suppression de matières colorantes telles que le fer et les halogènes dans de l'acide chlorhydrique. Parmi les halogènes, le chlore et le brome contribuent particulièrement à la coloration. On enlève le fer de l'acide chlorhydrique, de préférence par filtrage et échange d'ions, avant d'ajouter dans l'acide un agent de réduction contenant de l'azote. Il est préférable d'utiliser des composés contenant de l'hydroxylamine, de préférence de l'hydrochlorure d'hydroxylamine (chlorure d'ammonium hydroxyle). L'agent de réduction est ajouté en excédent stoechiométrique.
