Abstract
(EN) A negative electrode for dry cells made of a zinc-based alloy containing 0.004-0.800 wt. % of indium and 0.001-0.25 wt. % of titanium or 0.002-0.500 wt. % of zirconium and significantly containing no such harmful matters as mercury, cadmium, and lead. A method of manufacturing the zinc-can negative electrode by which up to 0.800 wt. % of indium can be added to a zinc-based alloy by hot rolling the alloy within a temperature range from 270 °C to 370°C. A manganese dry cell in which a separator coated with a paste containing 0.1-8 wt. % of InCl3 is provided on the internal surface of the zinc can. The zinc can is filled with an anode mixture prepared by adding manganese dioxide and a conductive carbon material such as of acetylene black to an electrolyte containing 35-50 wt. % of ZnCl2. A carbon rod is provided at the center of the anode mixture as a current collector.
(FR) Electrode négative pour piles sèches en alliage à base de zinc renfermant de 0,004 à 0,800 % en poids d'indium et de 0,001 à 0,25 % en poids de titane ou de 0,002 à 0,500 % en poids de zirconium, et ne renfermant sensiblement aucune matière nocive telle que du mercure, du cadmium et du plomb. On a également prévu un procédé de fabrication de cette électrode négative à enveloppe en zinc, permettant d'ajouter à un alliage à base de zinc jusqu'à 0,800 % en poids d'indium, par laminage à chaud de l'alliage à une température comprise entre 270 et 370 °C. En outre, on a prévu une pile sèche au manganèse dans laquelle un séparateur revêtu d'une pâte renfermant de 0,1 à 8 % en poids de InCl3 est prévu sur la surface interne de l'enveloppe en zinc. L'enveloppe en zinc est remplie d'un mélange anodique qu'on obtient en ajoutant, à un électrolyte renfermant de 35 à 50 % en poids de ZnCl2, du bioxyde de manganèse et une matière carbonée conductrice telle que du noir d'acétylène. Une tige de carbone est prévue à titre de collecteur de courant au milieu du mélange anodique.
