Abstract:
(EN) The present invention is directed to compounds of the class of piperidyl-imidazole derivative histamine H3-receptor antagonist. Such compounds have affinity for histamine H3-receptor, and preferably penetrate the blood-brain barrier. The compounds can block the soporific effect of an H3-receptor agonist. Illustrative of the compounds of the invention is the molecule 4-(1-cyclohexylvaleroyl-4-piperidyl)-1H-imidazole. These compounds have been found to have utility in treating cognitive disorders and have been found to be useful as appetite suppressants.
(FR) Composés de la classe des dérivés de pipéridyle-imidazole qui sont des antagonistes des récepteurs H3 de l'histamine. Lesdits composés ont une affinité pour le récepteur H3 de l'histamine, et traversent de préférence la barrière hémato-encéphalique. Lesdits composés peuvent bloquer l'effet soporifique d'un agoniste du récepteur H3. La molécule 4-(1-cyclohexylvaleroyl-4-pipéridyle)-1H-imidazole est un exemple de composé de la présente invention. Lesdits composés se sont révélés avoir une utilité comme médicament pour traiter des troubles cognitifs et comme coupe-faim.
