(EN)An ultra-slim disk storage unit includes a frame and a cover for engaging the frame to create first and second enclosed spaces therein. In one of the enclosed spaces a disk drive assembly means is housed which provides readable and writeable information storage on a disk medium. An electronic means for controlling the operation of the disk drive assembly means is housed on a board contained within the second enclosed space. An interconnected means provides coupling to the electronic means for external electrical connection to the disk storage unit. The interconnect means is disposed along a peripheral side of the frame in accordance with PCMCIA standards.
(FR)Cette unité consiste en un châssis et un couvercle dans lequel se loge ce châssis de façon à constituer deux compartiments. L'un des deux compartiments contient une mémoire à disque qui permet la lecture ou l'écriture d'informations sur un support sous forme de disque. Le dispositif électronique commandant le fonctionnement de la mémoire à disque est monté sur une carte située dans le second compartiment. Un connecteur assure le raccordement du dispositif électronique de commande, reliant ainsi la mémoire à disque à l'alimentation électrique extérieure. Ledit connecteur est installé sur un bord extérieur du châssis, conformément aux normes PCMCIA.
