(EN)There is disclosed a process for the ignition of combustible gas (18), which is released in a flow of gas in a flame tower, where a priming means (14) is used to ignite the flow of gas. The priming means (14) is in the form of a projectile, which is fired in a path (16) in a direction towards the release of gas. The priming means is caused to impact against a stop plate (24) which is arranged in the release of gas, whereby the priming means (14) deforms and detonates and causes a flow of incandescent particles (26) into the gas flow (18), which is thereby ignited. The path of the projectile is protected with a pipe arranged concentrically of the path. The incandescent particles are produced by the use of a priming means (14) including particulate zirconium metal (76), which on impact and deformation of the priming means (14) against the stop means (24), is caused to burn. There is also disclosed an apparatus for carrying out the process.
(FR)Procédé d'allumage d'un gaz combustible (18) que l'on introduit dans un flux gazeux dans une torchère. Afin d'allumer le flux gazeux, on utilise une amorce (14) sous forme d'un projectile qui est tiré suivant une trajectoire (16) en direction du gaz combustible. L'amorce vient heurter une plaque de butée (24) placée dans le gaz combustible en écoulement. Ainsi, l'amorce (14) se déforme et explose de manière qu'elle envoie un flux de particules incandescentes (26) dans le gaz en écoulement (18), qui prend feu. La trajectoire du projectile est protégée par un tuyau monté de manière concentrique autour de la trajectoire.
