(EN)Disclosed is a process for the preparation of a dimethyl cyclohexanedicarboxylate by the hydrogenation of the corresponding dimethyl benzenedicarboxylate ester in the presence of a class of supported catalysts comprising palladium and a second Group VIII metal selected from nickel, platinum, ruthenium or a mixture thereof deposited on an alumina support which have a unique combination of characteristics. The use of the catalysts permits the process to be carried out at significantly lower process pressures.
(FR)L'invention concerne un procédé de préparation d'un cyclohexanedicarboxylate diméthylique par hydrogénation de l'ester de benzènedicarboxylate diméthylique correspondant en présence d'une classe de catalyseurs soutenus comprenant du palladium et un second métal du groupe VIII sélectionné parmi le nickel, le platine, le ruthénium ou un mélange de ceux-ci, déposé sur un support d'oxyde d'aluminium, et qui présentent une combinaison unique de caractéristiques. L'utilisation des catalyseurs permet de réaliser le procédé à des pressions sensiblement inférieures.
