Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf ein Verfahren und eine Vorrichtung zum kontrollierten Verspannen einer Stopfbuchse (12, 20, 22). Erfindungsgemäß erfolgt dies dadurch, daß die Stopfbuchspackung (20) zur Erstverdichtung mit einer vorgegebenen Maximalpreßkraft beaufschlagt wird, daß die Preßkraft (F) sodann mehrfach zwischen der Maximalpreßkraft und einer vorgegebenen Minimalpreßkraft variiert wird und daß die Packung abschließend unter einer vorgegebenen Nennpreßkraft komprimiert und in diesem Zustand in der Kammer (12) eingespannt wird. Während der Variation der Preßkraft (F) wird der zugehörige Spannweg (s) der Packung (20) gemessen und unter Bildung eines Kraft-Weg-Diagramms als Eichkurve registriert. Die Nennpreßkraft kann dann durch Kompression der Packung anhand der Eichkurve durch Messung des Spannwegs eingestellt werden.

The invention relates to a process and a device for the controlled compression of a stuffing box (12, 20, 22). This is done in the invention by applying a predetermined maximum pressure for the initial compression of the stuffing box packing (20), by then varying the pressure (F) a number of times between the maximum and a predetermined minimum and finally compressing the packing under a predetermined rated pressure and clamping it in the chamber (12) in this condition. While the pressure (F) is being varied, the concomitant elongation (s) of the packing (20) is measured and recorded with the production of a force-elongation graph as a calibration curve. The rated pressure can then be set by compressing the packing using the calibration curve obtained by measuring the elongation.

L'invention concerne un procédé et un dispositif permettant de comprimer de manière contrôlée un presse-étoupe (12, 20, 22). Afin d'opérer une compression initiale, on applique une force de compression maximale prédéfinie à la garniture de presse-étoupe (20). On fait ensuite varier la force de pression (F) à plusieurs reprises entre la force de pression maximale et une force de pression minimale prédéfinie. La garniture est finalement comprimée à une force de pression nominale prédéfinie et est enfoncée et bloquée, dans cet état, dans la chambre (12). Pendant la variation de la force de pression (F), l'allongement (s) de la garniture (20) qui en résulte est mesuré et enregistré sous forme de diagramme force exercée-allongement produit, servant de courbe d'étalonnage. La force de pression nominale peut ensuite être ajustée afin d'obtenir l'allongement approprié, par compression de la garniture, à partir de la courbe d'étalonnage obtenue par mesure de l'allongement.
