Abstract:
(EN) A method and system (52) for controlling the intervals during which light signals are sampled in a fiber-optic sensing system (11) compensates for signal artifacts that are caused by movement of the fiber-optic waveguide during the sampling. The method and system sample the light signals at intervals that are shorter than the intervals during which displacement of the optical waveguide occurs in normal use. The short sampling intervals result in the individual sampling of different wavelengths of light (51, 53) being exposed to the same changes in transmission characteristics of the optical waveguide which causes signal artifacts. Accordingly, when subsequent processing (73) of the collected signals occurs, the effects of the signal artifacts are compensated for.
(FR) L'invention concerne un procédé et un système (52) destinés à réguler les intervalles de temps durant lesquels les signaux lumineux sont échantillonnés dans un système de détection (1) à fibres optiques, et à compenser les artéfacts des signaux qui sont provoqués par les mouvements de la fibre optique servant de guide d'onde durant l'échantillonnage. Dans ce procédé, le système échantillonne les signaux lumineux à des intervalles plus courts que les intervalles durant lesquels se produit, en utilisation normale, le déplacement du guide d'onde. Les intervalles d'échantillonnage courts font que les échantillonnages individuels aux différentes longueurs d'onde de la lumière (51, 53) sont exposés aux mêmes changements de caractéristiques de transmission du guide d'onde optique provoquant les artéfacts des signaux. Dans ces conditions, lors d'un traitement (73) ultérieur des signaux collectés, les effets des artéfacts des signaux sont compensés.
