Abstract:
(EN) A blood oxygenator/heat exchanger system (10) includes disposable and durable components, the latter being possible of permanent installation to further reduce costs, inconvenience and risks of use. The system may selectively include a blood pump (136) of axial, centrifugal, or ventricular type, along with an integral venous reservoir (206). By combination, arrangement and cooperation of structural features blood pumping volume is decreased, advantageous blood flow paths are achieved, blood damage is reduced, and durable components are reusable for lowest costs. The oxygenator/heat exchanger (58) nests upon a durable heat source base (24) to be supported thereby, while redundant boundaries are provided between blood and heat transfer media.
(FR) Un système oxygénateur de sang/échangeur de chaleur (10) comprend des composants jetables et durables, ces derniers pouvant être montés à demeure afin de réduire d'avantage les coûts, les inconvénients et les risques d'utilisation. Le système peut comprendre une pompe à sang (136) de type axial, centrifuge ou ventriculaire ainsi qu'un réservoir de sang veineux intégré (206). Grâce à l'agencement et la coopération combinés d'éléments structuraux, le volume de pompage du sang est diminué, des chemins de circulation du sang avangateux sont obtenus, les éventuels dégâts du sang sont réduits, et les composants durables peuvent être réutilisés afin d'abaisser les coûts. L'oxygénateur/échangeur de chaleur (58) s'emboîtent sur une base de source thermique durable (24) qui joue le rôle de support, des éléments frontières étant prévus entre le sang et les milieux de transfert de chaleur.
