Abstract:
(EN) The invention provides novel polyesters, fibers and films, nonwovens from the fibers and disposable products of the polyesters such as diapers. The products are degradable under the conditions typically existing in waste composting processes, have low ingredient costs and yet provide strength and toughness properties adequate for end uses such as in disposable diapers. The polyesters are based upon a polyalkylene terephthalate copolymerized with hexahydroterephthalic acid, and containing di- or triethylene glycol and alkali metal or alkaline earth metal sulfo groups, such as a metal 5-sulfoisophthalic acid derivative.
(FR) Cette invention concerne de nouveaux polyesters, des fibres et des films, et des non-tissés fabriqués à partir des fibres ainsi que des produits jetables fabriqués avec les polyesters, tels que des couches. Ces produits sont dégradables dans les conditions spécifiques existant pendant la réalisation du compostage des déchets, nécessitent un faible coût pour ce qui concerne les ingrédients et possèdent cependant les propriétés de résistance et de solidité nécessaires à l'utilisation finale comme c'est le cas pour les couches jetables. Les polyesters sont principalement constitués d'un téréphtalate de polyalkylène copolymérisé avec de l'acide hexahydrotéréphtalique et renferment du glycol di- ou tri-éthylène et des groupes sulfo de métaux alcalino-terreux et de métaux alcalins, tels qu'un dérivé métallique d'acide 5-sulfo-isophtalique.
