Circuits for producing a voltage Vpp from a lower Vcc power supply. Such circuits are useful, for example, in the production of voltage for programming cells of an electrically programmable memory. According to the invention, the circuit includes a charge pump (PMP), a control system (REG) for discontinuing running of the charge pump when voltage (Vpp) exceeds a predefined voltage (VppO), as well as the following elements: a means (Ti) for discontinuing current consumption of the control system upon discontinuing running of the charge pump; and a control circuit (CTRL) for monitoring voltage Vpp and verifying that it does not fall beyond an inferior value dV below VppO. The circuit restores at the same time running of the charge pump and the control system's current supply. The Vpp production circuit current consumption is thereby substantially reduced.

L'invention concerne les circuits pour produire une tension Vpp à partir d'une alimentation plus faible Vcc. De tels circuits sont utiles par exemple pour produire la tension de programmation des cellules d'une mémoire électriquement programmable. Selon l'invention, le circuit comporte une pompe de charge (PMP), un régulateur (REG) pour interrompre le fonctionnement de la pompe de charge lorsque la tension Vpp dépasse une tension prédéterminée (VppO), et de plus les éléments suivants: un moyen (T1) pour interrompre la consommation de courant du régulateur lorsque le fonctionnement de la pompe de charge est interrompu; et un circuit de contrôle (CTRL) pour surveiller alors la tension Vpp et vérifier qu'elle ne descend pas de plus d'une faible valeur dV au dessous de VppO. Ce circuit remet en route à la fois la pompe de charge et l'alimentation en courant du régulateur. On peut ainsi réduire fortement la consommation de courant du circuit de production de Vpp.
