Abstract:
(EN) An apparatus for use as a catheter, a guidewire, a catheter sheath for use with catheter introducers or a drug infusion catheter/guidewire. The apparatus (20) including a flexible metallic tubular member (22) with an encasing (26) covering the tubular member that creates a fluid-tight seal around the periphery of the tubular member. In one embodiment, the tubular member can be a coiled metallic hypotube design. This coiled design can include either a single filament or multi-filament wire wrap. In a second embodiment, the flexible tubular member can be formed by cutting a predetermined configuration of slots into a single hollow thin-walled metal tube at predetermined spacings, depth and patterns.
(FR) L'invention se rapporte à un appareil qui est conçu pour être utilisé comme cathéter, comme fil conducteur, comme gaine de cathéter pour l'introduction d'un cathéter ou comme cathéter/fil conducteur pour l'administration de médicaments par perfusion. Cet appareil (20) comprend un élément tubulaire métallique flexible (22) avec un revêtement (26) couvrant l'élément tubulaire de façon à créer un joint étanche aux fluides sur toute la périphérie de l'élément tubulaire. Dans un premier mode de réalisation, l'élément tubulaire peut être conçu sous la forme d'un hypotube métallique à enroulement. Cette conception à enroulement peut être formée par une enveloppe de fil à un seul filament ou à plusieurs filaments. Dans un second mode de réalisation, on peut obtenir l'élément tubulaire flexible en découpant une configuration prédéterminée de fentes dans un simple tube métallique creux à paroi mince selon des espacements, une profondeur et des dispositions prédéterminés.
