Abstract
(EN) A rotary disc cutter for cutting workpieces, especially gears and the like. The rotary cutter comprises a plurality of cutting blades arranged about the periphery of a rotary disc cutter body (1) with at least a portion of the blades being roughing blades (2) comprising a tip (26) and two sides (27) with each side (27) having first (28) and second (29) side portions. The first side portion (28) along with the tip (26) defining a cutting surface of the blades while the second side portion (29) is relieved such that a clearance (30) is formed between the second side portion (29) and the surface of the workpiece (19). The clearance (30) being of a dimension to allow the flow of coolant therethrough thereby improving the cooling of the cutting surface and enhancing the flow of chips away from the vicinity of the blades. The invention further includes a substantially reduced number of blade segments (80, 81, 82, 83). Alternative blade tip configuration (73, 74, 75) are also disclosed.
(FR) Fraise à disque rotative servant à tailler les pièces telles que les engrenages ou analogue. La fraise rotative comporte une pluralité de lames disposées autour de la périphérie d'un corps (1) de fraise à disque rotative, une partie au moins des lames étant des lames d'ébauche (2) comportant une pointe (26) et deux côtés (27) dont chacun présente une première (28) et une seconde (29) parties latérales. La première partie latérale (28) et la pointe (26) délimitent une surface de fraisage des lames tandis que la seconde partie latérale (29) est détalonnée de sorte qu'un écart (30) soit formé entre ladite seconde partie latérale (29) et la surface de la pièce en travail (19). L'écart (30) présente des dimensions aptes à permettre à un liquide de refroidissement de s'y écouler et d'améliorer le refroidissement de la surface de fraisage tout en améliorant l'évacuation des copeaux du voisinage des lames. On a également prévu de réduire sensiblement le nombre de segments de lame (80, 81, 82, 83), ainsi que des configurations alternatives de pointes de lame (73, 74, 75).
