An automatic dualside saw blade grinding machine (10) includes a common actuator (37) to advance the saw blade (16) to place subsequent teeth (18) in position for grinding and to clamp the saw blade (16) to prevent side-by-side movement during grinding. Thus, no adjustment is required to synchronize the timing between blade rotation and clamping. The actuator (37) is a double-acting two-sided pneumatic piston cylinder which has one end attached directly to the clamping mechanism (28) and the other end attached to the spindle (20) that carries the saw blade (16) through a push-pull cable (42) and a linkage (40) that converts linear motion to rotary motion. The linkage (40) is adjustable to accomodate saw blades having different tooth spacing. The piston cylinder (37) is actuated by an air valve (52) that is cycled by a cam (60) driven by the motor (56) that cycles the blade grinding wheels (24). Accordingly, machine speed can be changed simply by changing the motor speed.

Machine automatique (10) à affûter les lames de scie simultanément des deux côtés comprenant un actionneur commun (37) destiné à faire avancer la lame de scie (16) de manière à placer chaque dent (18) successivement en position d'affûtage et à serrer la lame de scie (16) pour l'empêcher d' effectuer un mouvement latéral pendant l'affûtage. Aucun réglage n'est donc nécessaire pour synchroniser la rotation de la lame et le serrage. L'actionneur (37) est un cylindre à piston pneumatique à double action et à deux faces dont une extrémité est fixée directement au mécanisme de serrage (28) et l'autre est fixée à la broche (20) qui soutient la lame de scie (16) par l'intermédiaire d'un câble de va-et-vient (42) et d'un mécanisme articulé (40) qui convertit le mouvement linéaire en mouvement rotatif. Ledit mécanisme articulé (40) peut être réglé de manière à s'adapter à des lames de scie à écartements de dents différents. Le cylindre à piston (37) est actionné par une soupape pneumatique (52) dont les cycles sont commandés par une came (60) entraînée par le moteur (56) commandant les meules d'affûtage (24) de la lame. Par conséquent, on peut modifier la vitesse de la machine en modifiant simplement la vitesse du moteur.
