Abstract

An instrument is provided to measure the electrical resistance of a material between two electrically conductive members, said instrument comprising two sets of probes (5, 6), each set for engagement with a respective electrically conductive member, measurement means switchable between a contact and test mode of operation and operative to measure the electrical continuity between said probes (5, 6) and said electrically conductive members in said contact mode, and the electrical resistance between said electrically conductive members in said test mode, and display means (D1, D2, D3 and D4) to provide a display which is representative of said electrical continuity or said measured electrical resistance. The instrument can be applied to the measurement of overhead line cap and pin insulators.

On décrit un instrument destiné à mesurer la résistance électrique d'un matériau entre deux éléments conducteurs de l'électricité. L'instrument comprend deux ensembles de sondes (5, 6) destinées à venir en prise avec leur élément conducteur respectif, des moyens de mesure commutables entre un mode opératoire par contact et un mode test destinés à mesurer la continuité électrique entre lesdites sondes (5, 6) et lesdits éléments conducteurs lors dudit mode opératoire par contact, et à recevoir la résistance électrique entre lesdits éléments conducteurs lors dudit mode test. L'instrument comprend également des moyens de présentation (D1, D2, D3 et D4) destinés à fournir une information représentative de ladite continuité électrique ou de ladite résistance électrique mesurée. L'isntrument peut être utilisé pour la mesure de lignes aériennes et d'isolations suspendues.
