A method pertaining to vehicle headlamps which emit ultraviolet light and which include a light source for generating both ultraviolet light and visible light, and a filter which is placed in the beam path between the light source and the surroundings and which is intended to substantially filter out visible light and to transmit ultraviolet light, said headlamp, however, unintentionally transmitting a given proportion of visible light, such as red and blue light, of low intensity. The invention is characterized by arranging the headlamp (1) so that the light source (2) and the filter (5; 6) in combination will intentionally allow a predetermined proportion of visible light of a light colour to pass therethrough; by causing said visible light to be sufficiently strong to dominate over said unintentionally emitted light on the part of a viewer, and by causing said predetermined proportion of visible light to have an intensity which lies beneath the intensity at which the light intentionally emitted would dazzle a viewer in combination with any other visible light intentionally emitted by the headlamp. The invention also relates to an arrangement.

Procédé relatif à des phares de véhicule émettant de la lumière ultraviolette et comprenant une source lumineuse servant à produire à la fois de la lumière ultraviolette et de la lumière visible, ainsi qu'un filtre placé dans le trajet du faisceau entre la source lumineuse et l'environnement et conçu pour filtrer de façon sensible la lumière visible et pour émettre de la lumière ultraviolette. Ledit phare émet cependant, de façon non intentionnelle, une proportion donnée de lumière visible, telle que de la lumière rouge et bleue, de faible intensité. L'invention est caractérisée par la disposition du phare (1), de façon que la source lumineuse (2) et le filtre (5, 6) combinés permettent à une proportion prédéterminée de lumière visible de couleur faible de les traverser; elle est également caractérisé par le fait de provoquer une intensité de ladite lumière visible suffisamment forte pour qu'elle soit prépondérante sur ladite lumière émise de façon non intentionnelle, si on la regarde, ainsi que de conférer à ladite proportion prédéterminée de lumière visible, une intensité inférieure à celle à laquelle la lumière émise intentionnellement serait éblouissante si elle était combinée à toute autre lumière visible émise intentionnellement par le phare. L'invention se rapporte également à un dispositif.
