Abstract

The machine (10) includes a bidirectional force-resistance mechanism (16) in the form of a cylinder (14) with a piston (142) and piston rod (144). A lever (14) is mounted to a framework (120) which includes a vertical support member (22, 24, 26) and a horizontal support member (28, 30). This piston rod (144) is attached to one end of the lever (14) and the cylinder (16) is attached to the vertical support member (22) of the frame (20). Foot pedals (120) are attached to one end of the lever (14). A stationary handle bar (60) is also provided on the vertical support member (22). A fluid passageway (160) connects chambers (146, 148) on opposite sides of the piston (142) inside of the cylinder (140) and by adjusting a valve (167) which is positioned in the fluid passageway (160) as it forces the fluid from one chamber (146) to the other chamber (148) can be selectively varied.

La machine (10) comprend un mécanisme bidirectionnel de résistance à une force sous forme d'un cylindre (14) comportant un piston (142) et une tige de piston (144). Un levier (14) est monté sur un bâti (120) comprenant un élément de support vertical (22, 24, 26) et un élément de support horizontal (28, 30). Ladite tige de piston (144) est fixée à l'une des extrémités du levier (14) et le cylindre (16) est fixé à l'élément de support vertical (22) du cadre (20). Des pédales (120) sont fixées à l'une des extrémités du levier (14). Un guidon fixe (60) est également situé sur l'élément de support vertical (22). Un conduit hydraulique (160) relie les chambres (146, 148) situées sur les côtés opposés du piston (142) à l'intérieur du cylindre (140) et on peut modifier sélectivement la résistance dudit cylindre (140) exerçant une poussée sur le fluide d'une chambre (146) à l'autre (148), au moyen du réglage d'une vanne (167) située à l'intérieur dudit conduit (60).
