Abstract:
(EN) A method for finishing metal surfaces, especially that of metal containers, using a cleaning agent (24) having a substantillay neutral pH is provided. In one embodiment of the invention lubricants and coolants (28) used during container forming processes are cleaned from the surface of metal containers by using a terpene cleaning agent (24) comprising d-limonen, alpha-terpineol, beta-terpineol, alpha-pinene, beta-pinene, alcohols of such agents or mixtures thereof. Surfactants may also be used to aid in the cleaning process. The organic component of the cleaning agent, as well as lubricants, coolants (28) and aqueous components (34), are separated for recycling and reuse. Cleaning metal surfaces according to the method of the present invention has many attendant advantages including decreased roughness and increased reflectivity of metal surfaces, increased mobility on a container production line, and reduced amounts of paint, overcoat and internal coat required to decorate metal surfaces.
(FR) On décrit un procédé de finissage de surfaces métalliques, en particulier celles de boîtes métalliques, à l'aide d'un produit nettoyant (24) présentant un pH pratiqument neutre. Selon un mode de réalisation, on enlève les lubrifiants et les agents de refroidissement (28), utilisés au cours du processus de formage, de la surface de boîtes métalliques, en utilisant un produit nettoyant à base de terpène (24) comprenant du d-limonène, de l'alpha-terpinéol, du bêta-terpinéol, de l'alpha-pinène, du bêta-pinène, des alcools ou des mélanges de ces agents. Des agents tensioactifs peuvent aussi être utilisés pour favoriser le processus de nettoyage. Le constituant organique du produit nettoyant, ainsi que les lubrifiants, agents de refroidissement (28) et constituants aqueux (34) sont séparés pour être recyclés et réutilisés. Le nettoyage de surfaces métalliques selon le procédé de la présente invention présente de nombreux avantages annexes, y compris une rugosité réduite et un pouvoir réfléchissant accru des surfaces métalliques, une mobilité accrue dans la chaîne de production de boîtes et des quantités réduites de peinture, de couches de finition et des couches internes, devant être utilisées pour décorer les surfaces métalliques.
