Abstract:
(EN) A new organic electroluminescence device for a picture element or surface light source of a graphic display and video display. The conventional organic electroluminescent device, having a laminated structure comprising at least a solid organic fluorescent layer between two opposing electrodes, has the problem of short life. This problem is solved by coating the laminated structure with a protective layer of electrically insulating polymer. To manufacture the new organic electroluminescence device, it is especially preferable, at least, to manufacture the laminated structure under a series of continuous vacuum environment from forming of the luminescent layer to forming of electrodes provided directly on the luminescent layer or through an electron or hole injection layer before forming the protective layer under a vacuum environment continued from the above vacuum environment.
(FR) Nouveau dispositif à électroluminescence organique destiné à un élément d'image ou à une source lumineuse superficielle d'un affichage graphique ou vidéo. Les dispositifs à électroluminescence organique traditionnels possèdent une structure stratifiée comportant au moins une couche fluorescente organique et solide située entre deux électrodes opposées, et ont le désavantage d'être peu durables. On peut surmonter ce problème en enduisant la structure stratifiée d'une couche protectrice de polymère électriquement isolant. Afin de fabriquer ce nouveau dispositif à électroluminescence organique, il est notamment préférable, au moins, de fabriquer la structure stratifiée dans une série de vides continus allant de l'étape de formation de la couche luminescente jusqu'à celle de formation des électrodes formées directement sur la couche luminescente ou reliées à celle-ci par l'intermédiaire d'une couche à injection d'électrons ou de trous, avant la formation de la couche protectrice dans un vide situé dans le prolongement du vide précité.
