Abstract:
(EN) A printing system employs a rotating drum for carrying a photosensitive printing medium in the form of a discontinuous sheet, there being a clamp carried by the drum and rotating therewith for holding ends of the sheet to secure the sheet to the drum. The system includes a print head having a laser beam which is spatially and temporally modulated for gray-scale printing of individual pixels of an image. The head is scanned parallel to an axis of the drum. A servomechanism responsive to angular orientation of the drum produces a linear scan during rotation of the drum. An optical system within the head provides a common path through a common objective lens for both a write laser beam and for a focus laser beam of an automatic focusing apparatus which positions the objective lens rapidly by a dither motion to compensate for undulations in the surface of the print medium. The objective lens is carried at a reference position during passage of the clamp, the reference position being updated periodically by measurements of focus.
(FR) Un système d'impression utilise un tambour rotatif portant un support d'impression photosensible sous la forme d'une feuille discontinue, un élément de serrage étant porté par le tambour et tournant avec lui afin de tenir les extrémités de la feuille et assujettir la feuille sur le tambour. Le système comprend une tête d'impression à rayon laser qui est modulée de manière spatiale et temporelle pour l'impression d'échelle des gris de pixels individuels d'une image. Le balayage de la tête s'effectue parallèlement à un axe du tambour. Un servomécanisme sensible à l'orientation angulaire du tambour produit un balayage linéaire pendant la rotation du tambour. Un système optique logé dans la tête établit un chemin commun au travers d'une lentille d'objectif commune à la fois pour un rayon laser d'écriture et pour un rayon laser de focalisation d'un appareil de focalisation automatique qui positionne la lentille d'objectif rapidement par un mouvement de tremblement pour compenser les ondulations de la surface du support d'impression. La lentille d'objectif est portée en une position de référence pendant le passage de l'élément de serrage, la position de référence étant mise à jour périodiquement par des mesures de focalisation.
