Abstract:
(EN) An electric power generation system comprises a fuel cell (9) and supplies (1, 5) of substances to be treated so as to provide suitable reactants for the fuel cell. The heating and cooling requirements of the system as a whole are balanced as far as possible and a control system (17) is provided to regulate the system to improve efficiency. The treatment of one of the substances may involve a reforming reaction to produce hydrogen reactant for the cell and reservoirs (14, 15) may be provided in the reactant feed lines. A battery (60) may be connected in parallel with the fuel cell via a switching means (17E) to enable it either to augment the power of the fuel cell or to be charged by the fuel cell, to supply power independently of the fuel cell, or to supply to start up the system.
(FR) Système de production d'énergie électrique comportant une cellule électrochimique (9) et des sources (1, 5) de substances à traiter pour alimenter la cellule électrochimique en réactifs appropriés. Les besoins de l'ensemble du système en chauffage et en refroidissement sont équilibrés jusqu'à la limite du possible, et un système de commande (17) est prévu pour réguler le fonctionnement du système de manière à en améliorer l'efficacité. Le traitement de l'une des substances peut comprendre une réaction de reformage pour produire un réactif à hydrogène destiné à la cellule, et les lignes d'alimentation en réactifs peuvent être dotées de réservoirs (14, 15). Une batterie (60) peut être raccordée en parallèle à la cellule électrochimique par l'intermédiaire d'un dispositif commutateur (17E) afin de lui permettre soit d'augmenter la puissance de la cellule électrochimique soit d'être chargée par celle-ci, d'assurer l'alimentation en courant indépendamment de ladite cellule, ou d'assurer l'alimentation initiale du système.
