Abstract:
(EN) This is a dot-matrix device where a dot of the image is formed at each line/column crossover. A source emits electrons continuously in line with the columns, away from the image dots. In accordance with the signal it receives, a column electrode guides the electrons emitted in line with it to the selected line, or rejects them back to the source. The guide column electrodes are covered with an electrically insulating film, the electrons being guided in the vacuum immediately adjacent to the insulator, in line with the guide electrodes. Application in display devices.
(FR) Ce dispositif d'affichage est matriciel, un point d'image étant formé à chaque croisement ligne-colonne. En regard des colonnes, hors des points d'image, une source émet continuellement des électrons. Selon le signal qu'elle reçoit, une électrode colonne guide jusqu'à la ligne sélectionnée les électrons émis en regard d'elle, ou les repousse sur la source. Les électrodes colonnes de guidage sont recouvertes d'une couche d'isolation électrique, le guidage des électrons s'effectuant dans le vide au voisinage immédiat de l'isolant, à l'aplomb des électrodes de guidage. Application à l'affichage.
