Abstract:
(EN) An error detection system (200; 508) for a discrete receiver (340). The error detection system (200; 508) indicates bad frames of binary information signals (206; 408) which contain distorted bits in densities so great as to cause a convolutional decoder (212; 412) to generate an incorrect, decoded signal. A signal (418) decoded by a convolutional decoder (212; 412) is re-encoded by an encoder (224; 424), and the re-encoded signal (230; 430) is compared (256; 456) with the signal (206-248; 408-448) received by the receiver (340). When portions of the re-encoded signal (230; 430) differ too greatly from the actual, received signal (206-248; 408-448), a bad frame indication (286; 486) is generated.
