Title (EN) BIOLOGICALLY ACTIVE BACTERICIDAL/PERMEABILITY-INCREASING PROTEIN FRAGMENTS
(FR) FRAGMENTS BIOLOGIQUEMENT ACTIFS DE PROTEINES BACTERICIDES/ACCROISSANT LA PERMEABILITE
Abstract:
(EN) Disclosed herein are methods for neutralizing lipopolysaccharide (LPS) in a mammal suffering from an infection caused by gram negative bacteria comprising administering to said mammal an amount of bactericidal/permeability-increasing protein sufficient to neutralize said LPS. Also disclosed herein are methods to treat mammals suffering from infections caused by gram negative bacteria and purified isolated proteins comprising amino acid residues 1-199 and 1-203 of bactericidal/permeability-increasing protein.
