Abstract:
(EN) Bromonitroethenylfuran (BNEF) is prepared from furfural in a two-step process. A primary amine is reacted with furfural in an organic solvent at the reflux temperature of the solvent to form the Schiff base. The organic solvent and the water formed in the foregoing reaction are removed from the Schiff base, which is then dissolved in a polar, water-miscible solvent. Bromonitromethane is added to the Schiff base solution and reacts with the Schiff base to form BNEF, which can be readily isolated by precipitation.
(FR) On prépare du bromonitroéthénylfurane (BNEF) à partir d'un furfural selon un procédé comportant deux étapes. On fait réagir une amine primaire avec un furfural dans un solvant organique à la température de reflux du solvant de façon à former la base de Schiff. On retire le solvant organique et l'eau formée dans la réaction précédente de la base de Schiff que l'on fait ensuite dissoudre dans un solvant polaire et miscible à l'eau. On ajoute du bromonitrométhane à la solution de base de Schiff, ledit bromonitrométhane réagissant avec ladite base de Schiff de manière à former du MNEF que l'on peut facilement isoler par précipitation.
