Abstract:
(EN) An inflator (10) comprising: a pressure tank (12, 14, 16, 20) for storing a quantity of stored inflation gas under pressure. The pressure tank comprising a first burst disk (46) in communication with the stored inflation gas; a sliding piston (72) including at one end thereof a sharp edge (74) for puncturing the first rupture disk and at its other end a second rupture disk (80). The sliding piston (72) movable into engagement with the first rupture disk in response to the build up of pressure acting on the second rupture disk (80) in response to the burning of propellant material (90) thereby permitting egress of the stored inflation gas. The second burst disk being ruptured by the continued build up of pressure due to the burning propellant whereupon after the rupturing of same the heated products of combustion resulting from the burning propellant flow through the sliding piston (72) to increase the temperature of the stored inflation gas prior to its exit from the inflator.
(FR) Dispositif de gonflage (10) comprenant un réservoir (12, 14, 16, 20) destiné à stocker une quantité de gaz de gonflage sous pression. La cuve de pression comprend un premier disque de décharge (46) communiquant avec le gaz de gonflage stocké; un piston coulissant (72) comporte à l'une de ses extrémités une arête effilée (74) destinée à provoquer l'éclatement du premier disque de rupture et à l'autre extrémité un deuxième disque de rupture (80). Le piston coulissant (72) peut venir en contact avec le premier disque de rupture en réponse à une augmentation de la pression agissant sur le deuxième disque de rupture (80) suite à la combustion d'un matériau propulseur (90), permettant ainsi au gaz de gonflage stocké de s'échapper. L'augmentation continue de pression dûe à la combustion du matériau propulseur provoque l'éclatement du deuxième disque. Suite à la rupture de celui-ci, les produits chauds de combustion résultant de la combustion du matériau propulseur, s'écoulent à travers le piston coulissant (72) de façon à élever la température du gaz de gonflage stocké avant sa sortie du dispositif de gonflage.
