Abstract:
(EN) A co-fired laminate (10) for use in printheads for drop-on-demand ink jet printers has two inner layers (12, 14) of piezoelectric material which are thickness poled in opposite senses, two outer layers (11, 15) of inactive material and a fifth layer (13) disposed between the inner layers which is electrically insulating under the printhead operating conditions and conductive under the poling conditions of the inner layers. The fifth layer preferably is an N.T.C. material with its critical temperature between the operating and poling temperatures. After poling of the inner layers further manufacture of the printhead from one side thereof can be effected as described.
(FR) Un laminé cuit en combinaison (10) et devant être utilisé dans des têtes porte-caractères d'imprimantes à jets d'encre à la demande comprend deux couches internes (12, 14) d'un matériau piézo-électrique qui sont polarisées sur l'épaisseur dans des sens opposés, des couches externes (11, 15) d'un matériau inactif, et une cinquième couche (13) disposée entre les couches internes et qui est électriquement isolante dans des conditions de fonctionnement de la tête porte-caractères et conductrice dans des conditions de polarisation des couches internes. La cinquième couche se compose de préférence d'un matériau NTC dont la température critique se situe entre les températures de fonctionnement et de polarisation. Après que l'on ait polarisé les couches internes, on peut poursuivre la fabrication de la tête porte-caractère à partir d'un côté de ces couches comme décrit.
