Abstract:
(EN) An industrial cleaning process in which a contaminant comprising soldering flux and/or adhesive tape residue is removed from a substrate contaminated therewith, for example, a printed circuit board contaminated with rosin flux, comprising: (A) contacting the substrate with a terpene-based cleaning composition which is substantially free of water-soluble organic material, for example, a surfactant, for a period of time sufficient to solubilize the contaminant; (B) removing the composition and solubilized contaminant from the substrate by contact with water having a temperature of about 70 °F to about 140 °F (but preferably lower) for a period of time of no longer than about 10 minutes to provide a substrate having a contamination rating of no greater than about 14 micrograms NaCl equivalent/square inch (MIL-P-28809A), and to thereby form a mixture comprising the composition, contaminant and water; and (C) separating the water from said mixture, the separated water being substantially free of water-soluble organic material and having a chemical oxygen demand of no greater than about 1,000 ppm, and also a cleaning process utilizing a cleaning composition comprising a major amount of a monobasic ester to clean surfaces that are contaminated with an organic residue.
(FR) Procédé de nettoyage industriel dans lequel on élimine avec un décapant résineux, un contaminant comprenant des résidus de bande adhésive et/ou de flux décapant d'un substrat sali par ledit contaminant, tel que par exemple une plaquette de circuit imprimé, ledit procédé comportant les étapes suivantes: (A) la mise en contact du substrat avec une composition nettoyante à base de terpène pratiquement exempte de matériau organique soluble dans l'eau, tel qu'un tensio-actif, pendant une durée suffisante pour dissoudre le contaminant; (B) l'élimination de la composition et du contaminant dissous se trouvant sur le substrat par contact avec de l'eau dont la température se situe entre environ 70 °F et environ 140 °F (mais dont la température est de préférence inférieure à 140 °F) pendant une durée n'excédant pas environ 10 minutes, afin de produire un substrat dont le taux de contamination ne dépasse pas environ 14 microgrammes de NaCl équivalent pouce carré (MIL-P-28809A), et afin de former ainsi un mélange comprenant la composition, le contaminant et l'eau; et (C) en séparant l'eau dudit mélange, l'eau séparée étant pratiquement exempte de matériau organique soluble dans l'eau et présentant une demande en oxygène chimique ne dépassant pas environ 1000 ppm. Cette invention concerne également une composition nettoyante renfermant une grande quantité d'ester monobasique pour nettoyer des surfaces contaminées par un résidu organique.
