Zur Schaffung eines Spulenkörpers (5C), insbesondere für Klein- und Sicherheitstransformatoren, werden mehrere Schalen (5c1, 5c2, 5c3) aus elektrisch isolierendem Material schichtartig übereinander angeordnet. Jede Schale hat einen U-förmigen Querschnitt. Ferner ist jede Schale ohne Krafteinwirkung formstabil, aber unter Krafteinwirkung elastisch verformbar. Die Schalen bilden einen Ring mit mindestens einer Unterbrechung (18). An der Unterbrechungsstelle überlappen die Enden (15) einander.
