Abstract
(EN)
An extra short transmission shaft has two telescopically fitted tubular shaft sections (6, 7) having diameters (D', D) substantially greater than the basic diameters of coupling forks (8, 9) associated with respective ends of the shaft sections. The increased diameters of the shaft sections ensure a greater torque transmitting contact area between meshed teeth formed on such sections, this strengthening the coupling formed thereby and/or permitting the length of the meshed teeth, and thus of the shaft itself, to be reduced to a minimum without unduly affecting the coupling strength. Preferably, each of the coupling forks is integral with the free end of its respective shaft section.

Arbre de transmission très court possédant deux sections d'arbre (6, 7) emboîtées l'une dans l'autre et présentant des diamètres (D', D) sensiblement supérieurs aux diamètres de base des fourchettes d'embrayage (8, 9) associées à des extrémités respectives des sections d'arbre. Les diamètres augmentés des sections d'arbre assurent une plus grande zone de contact à transmission de force de torsion entre des dents engrenées formées sur ces sections, ce qui renforce l'accouplement ainsi formé et/ou permet de réduire au minimum la longueur des dents engrenées, et donc celle de l'arbre proprement dit, sans influer outre mesure sur la résistance de l'accouplement. De préférence, chacune des fourchettes d'embrayage est solidaire de l'extrémité libre de la section d'arbre respective.
