Abstract

A handheld battery operated laparoscopic ultrasound doppler stethoscope (1) having a body member (2) containing electronics for generating and transmitting ultrasound signals at a predetermined frequency and for processing doppler shifted return signals, a doppler probe (3) which comprises an elongated rigid tubular member (5) having at one end thereof an ultrasound transducer (6) for transmitting and receiving ultrasound signals, the elongated rigid tubular member having an outside diameter small enough to permit the elongated rigid tubular member (6) to fit within the bore of a laparoscopic tube and a length which exceeds the length of the laparoscopic tube by a predetermined distance, the stethoscope including a male and a female jack (9, 8) for removably attaching the doppler probe and the transducer therein to the electronics in the body member.

Stéthoscope Doppler ultrasonique de laparascopie à pile tenu à la main (1) comportant un élément de corps (2) qui contient les composants électroniques pour générer et transmettre les signaux ultrasoniques à une fréquence prédéterminée et pour traiter les signaux d'écho à effet Doppler; une sonde Doppler (3) qui comprend un élément tubulaire rigide allongé (5) possédant à une extrémité un transducteur ultrasonique (6) pour transmettre et recevoir des signaux ultrasoniques, l'élément tubulaire rigide allongé (5) ayant un diamètre extérieur assez petit pour pouvoir passer dans le trou d'un tube laparoscopique et une longueur qui dépasse la longueur du tube laparoscopique d'une distance prédéterminée. Le stéthoscope comprend une fiche mâle et une fiche femelle (9, 8) pour raccorder de manière amovible la sonde Doppler et le transducteur se trouvant à l'intérieur du stéthoscope aux composants électroniques de l'élément de corps.
