(EN)A method of manufacturing a multimode optical transmission medium from a synthetic resin having the distribution of refractive index varying continuously in a fixed direction. In the method a monomer is polymerized while a transparent polymer for constituting the wall of a vessel is being resolved into the monomer. Therefore, this method is free from the defect of methods using conventional polymerization reactions, and has an extremely high productivity.
(FR)Procédé de fabrication d'un milieu multimode de transmission optique à partir d'une résine synthétique dont la répartition de l'indice de réfraction varie de manière continue dans un sens fixe. Selon le procédé, on polymérise un monomère pendant qu'un polymère transparent destiné à constituer la paroi d'un récipient se dissout dans ledit monomère. Ce procédé ne souffre donc pas des imperfections des procédés qui emploient les réactions de polymérisation traditionnelles, et permet une productivité extrêmement élevée.
