Title (EN) SYNCHRONIZATION OF ILLUMINATING MEANS IN CONNECTION WITH A FILM CAMERA AND A VIDEO CAMERA
(FR) SYNCHRONISATION DES MOYENS D'ECLAIRAGE LORS DE L'UTILISATION CONJOINTE D'UN APPAREIL PHOTOGRAPHIQUE A FILM ET D'UNE CAMERA VIDEO
Abstract:
(EN) A system for simultaneous recording of a flash image on photographic film (10) and video (12) cameras in which flash operation during transfer of image out of the image sensor in the video camera is avoided by means of a simple synchronizing circuit (30). The synchronizing circuit generates a flash valid (IV) signal which allows the flash to be initiated only during a limited portion (X) of the video field signal ending sufficiently far in advance of the next vertical blanking interval (50) to assure that any flash illumination will be completed before the beginning of the next vertical blanking interval in which the video image transfer process occurs.
