Abstract:
(EN) A computer aided design (CAD) system (10, 10') projects or otherwise displays a drawing image onto a working surface (36). The displayed image and working surface are large enough to view the entire CAD-generated drawing with sufficient resolution, e.g., greater than four millon pixels, to permit working directly on the drawing surface, using familiar manual drafting or writing techniques, without having to magnify or enlarge the drawing image. The invention allows the desirable features of a CAD system, such as meory recall of commonly used drawn elements, scaling, rotation, indexing, etc., to be freely used, but without the annoyance, frustration, and inefficiencies of having to constantly change the magnification and location of the drawing, as is required using conventional CAD systems. Display of the drawing image is realized, in a preferred embodiment, through the use of multiple rear projection tubes (38) mounted behind the drawing surface in an X-Y grid. Data entry is realized, e.g., using a light pen (16, 46) on the drawing surface and/or a touch sensitive screen (44, 56) overlaying the drawing surface.
(FR) Un système de conception assistée par ordinateur (CAO) (10, 10') projette ou affiche une image de dessin sur une surface de travail (36). L'image affichée et la surface de travail sont suffisamment grandes pour visualiser tout le dessin créé par CAO avec une résolution suffisante, par exemple, supérieure à quatre millions de pixels, de manière à permettre de travailler directement sur la surface de dessin, à l'aide de techniques manuelles habituelles de dessin ou d'écriture, sans qu'il faille procéder à un grossissement ou à un agrandissement de l'image de dessin. L'invention permet d'utiliser librement les caractéristiques avantageuses d'un système de CAO, telles que le rappel en mémoire d'éléments de dessin communément utilisés, le changement d'échelle, la rotation, l'indexage etc., mais sans l'inconvénient, la frustration et les inefficacités qui accompagnent le changement constant de grossissement et de localisation du dessin, ce qui est habituellement nécessaire dans les systèmes de CAO classiques. Selon un mode de réalisation préféré, on procède à l'affichage de l'image du dessin à l'aide de tubes de rétroprojection multiples (38) montés derrière la surface du dessin dans une grille X-Y. On procède à l'introduction de données, par exemple, à l'aide d'un photostyle (16, 46) sur la surface de dessin et/ou un écran tactile (44, 56) recouvrant la surface de dessin.
