Abstract:
(EN) The present invention includes novel apparatus and methods for isoelectric focusing of amphoteric substances within fluids containing carrier ampholytes. The present invention utilizes multichannel recycling isoelectric focusing techniques which eliminate mixing of fluid which passes through the isoelectric focusing cell (20) with the original crude fluid sample. Mixing is avoided by preferably using a dual reservoir system (14) and alternating the fluid flow into and out of each reservoir (12) after each pass through the isoelectric focusing cell (20). A heat exchanger may be coupled to the isoelectric focusing cell (20) for removing heat generated during the focusing process. Barriers are provided for separating the electrode chambers from the focusing cell compartments which minimize ion movement from the electrode chambers into the focusing cell passageways.
(FR) La présente invention se rapporte à un appareil et à des procédés nouveaux servant à concentrer des substances amphotères dans des fluides contenant des ampholytes porteurs. L'invention utilise des techniques de concentration isoélectrique à recyclage à multicanaux qui évitent de mélanger le fluide passant à travers la cellule de concentration isoélectrique (20) et l'échantillon de fluide brut original. Ce mélange est de préférence évité par l'utilisation d'un système de double réservoir (14) et un écoulement de fluide alterné dans et hors de chaque réservoir (12) après que chacun des fluides a traversé la cellule de concentration isoélectrique (20). Un échangeur thermique peut être couplé à la cellule de concentration isoélectirque (20) afin d'enlever la chaleur générée au cours du procédé de concentration. Des barrières servent à séparer les chambres d'électrodes des compartiments de cellule de concentration, lesquelles barrières réduisent le mouvement ionique des chambres d'électrodes vers les passages des cellules de concentration.
