Abstract:
(EN) There is provided a mechanism for Automatic Gain Control in a receiver. It comprises: determining, within a certain dynamic range, the difference in power between the desired signal and a signal received, and providing open loop gain control for the signal in response to the differential so determined, scaled by the receiver's gain characteristics, such that the signal is positioned within dynamic range so as to reduce saturation and noise.
(FR) Un récepteur est équipé d'un moyen de commande automatique de gain. Il permet de déterminer, dans une certaine gamme dynamique, la différence de puissance existant entre le signal désiré et le signal reçu, et il assure une commande de gain à boucle ouverte pour le signal en réponse au différentiel ainsi déterminé, avec mise à l'échelle selon les caractéristiques de gain du récepteur, de sorte que le signal se situe dans la gamme dynamique afin de réduire la saturation et le bruit.
