Abstract:
(EN) A radial tire comprising a toroidal carcass (7) composed of steel cords arranged substantially in parallel to the meridional section of the tire and rubber coating the steel cords and belts (8) composed of steel cords disposed outside the crown portion of the carcass and inside a tread and rubber coating the steel cords. The carbon content and the filament tensile force of the steel cord at least in either of the carcass (7) or the belt (8) of the tire fall each within a predetermined range, the surfaces of the steel cords are plated with cobalt, and 100 % modulus after vulcanizing the coating rubber is 20 kg/cm2 or above. This tire can be reduced in weight and improved in resistances to separation and corrosion fatigue of the ply ends.
(FR) L'invention se rapporte à un pneu à structure radiale, qui comprend une carcasse toroïdale (7) constituée par des fils d'acier disposés essentiellement en parallèle à la section méridionale du pneu et par du caoutchouc recouvrant les fils d'acier, ainsi que des nappes d'armature (8) constituées par des fils d'acier disposés à l'extérieur de la partie de couronne de la carcasse et à l'intérieur de la bande de roulement et par du caoutchouc recouvrant les fils d'acier. La teneur en carbone et la force de traction des filaments des fils d'acier en ce qui concerne la carcasse (7) et/ou la nappe d'armature (8) du pneu sont chacune comprises dans une plage prédéterminée, les surfaces des fils d'acier sont plaquées de cobalt et l'élongation maximale d'amplitude après vulcanisation du revêtement en caoutchouc est d'au moins 20 kg/cm2. On peut conférer à un tel pneu une réduction de poids et une résistance améliorée aux efforts de séparation et de corrosion des extrémités des nappes.
