Abstract

The nozzle of a fuel injector is constructed to have a seat member (20) and a single thin disc orifice member (22). A guide member (18) affixed to the seat member (20) guides the injector needle (16) toward the seat (26) in the seat member (20) as the needle (16) is reciprocated within the injector by pulsing the injector solenoid. Fuel is conveyed past the guide member (18) by holes (34) that are spaced radially outwardly from the central hole (25) which guides the needle (16) and that are skewed to the injector axis. As fuel passes through these skewed holes (34), it acquires angular momentum. The effect of this angular momentum is to increase the divergence of the column of fuel that is emitted by the single thin disc orifice member (22).

La buse d'un injecteur de carburant est conçue de façon à comporter un élément (20) avec évidement servant de siège et un mince élément monodisque (22) perçé d'un orifice. Un élément de guidage (18) fixé à l'élément (20) avec évidement servant de siège guide l'aiguille (16) de l'injecteur en direction du siège (26) de l'élément (20), pendant le mouvement alternatif de l'aiguille (16) à l'intérieur de l'injecteur par excitation pulsée du solénoïde de l'injecteur. Du carburant est acheminé jusqu'à l'élément de guidage (18) par des trous (34) qui sont placés radialement espacés vers l'extérieur à partir du trou central (25) guidant l'aiguille (16) et qui sont inclinés par rapport à l'axe de l'injecteur. Au fur et à mesure que le carburant traverse ces trous inclinés (34), il acquiert un moment angulaire. Ce moment angulaire a pour effet d'accroître la divergence de la colonne de carburant qui est émise par le mince élément monodisque ajouré (22).
