Abstract:
(EN) Dielectrophoretic collection rates of microorganisms or other animate or inanimate dielectrically polarisable particles in suspension in a fluid are established by flowing the suspension past electrodes (17, 18) energised to produce a non-uniform alternating electric field in the suspension, terminating the energisation of the electrodes after a predetermined time to release particles collected from the suspension, and, downstream of the electrodes, measuring the pulse of released particles as a measure of the rate of particle collection during energisation of the electrodes. Repeated measurements at different field frequencies enable a collection-rate spectrum to be established and the particles under examination to be characterised or identified by reference to known spectra of known particles.
(FR) On détermine les taux de captage diélectrophorétique de micro-organismes ou d'autres particules animées ou inanimées polarisables diélectriquement en suspension dans un liquide en faisant circuler la suspension sur des électrodes (17, 18) excitées pour produire un champ électrique alternatif non uniforme dans la suspension, en arrêtant l'excitation des électrodes après un laps de temps prédéterminé pour dégager des particules captées depuis la suspension et, en aval des électrodes, en mesurant l'impulsion des particules dégagées pour obtenir la valeur du taux de captage des particules pendant l'excitation des électrodes. Des prises de mesure répétées à différentes fréquences de champ permettent d'établir un spectre du taux de captage et de caractériser ou d'identifier les particules soumises à examen par référence aux spectres connus des particules connues.
