Abstract:
(EN) An apparatus for measuring respiration includes a first gauge (14) for positioning around a patient's chest (11) and a second gauge (16) for positioning around the patient's abdomen (13). Each gauge is comprised of a silicone rubber tube (20) filled with a conductive gel (24). The conductive gel is a composition comprising glycerol, water, and sodium chloride. Upon securing the gauges (14, 16) about the patient (10), signals indicative of absolute volume are immediately available, providing a new and improved method of measuring and/or monitoring respiration.
(FR) Un appareil de mesure de la respiration comprend une première jauge (14) destinée à être positionnée autour de la poitrine (11) d'un patient, ainsi qu'une seconde jauge (16) destinée à être positionnée autour de l'abdomen (13) d'un patient. Chaque jauge se compose d'un tube (20) en caoutchouc silicone, rempli d'un gel (24) conducteur. Le gel conducteur est une composition comprenant du glycérol, de l'eau, et du chlorure de sodium. Lorsque l'on fixe les jauges (14, 16) autour du patient (10), des signaux indiquant un volume absolu sont immédiatement disponibles, ce qui constitue un procédé nouveau amélioré de mesure et/ou de contrôle de la respiration.
