Abstract:
(EN) An optical pickup device for reading data signals recorded in an optical recording medium such as a magnetooptical disk. A light beam emitted from a source of light is split by a light-splitting element into two light beams which are linearly polarized to meet at right angles with each other and which propagate in different directions. Then, a converter element changes the phase between the oscillation components of each light beam with respect to two orthogonal axes in a plane perpendicular to the beam path. This enables two differently polarized beams to overlap on the recording medium. Thus, the effective area of irradiation is made smaller than the actual beam spot size to provide high resolution.
(FR) L'invention se rapporte à un capteur optique servant à lire des signaux de données enregistrés dans un support d'enregistrement optique, tel qu'un disque magnéto-optique. Un faisceau lumineux émis par une source de lumière est fractionné au moyen d'un élément de fractionnement de la lumière en deux faisceaux lumineux, qui sont polarisés linéairement de façon à se rencontrer à angle droit l'un avec l'autre et qui se propagent dans des directions différentes. Un élément de convertisseur modifie ensuite la phase entre les composants d'oscillation de chaque faisceau lumineux par rapport à deux axes orthogonaux dans un plan perpendiculaire à la trajectoire des faisceaux, ce qui permet aux faisceaux différemment polarisés de se chevaucher sur le support d'enregistrement. La superficie effective de l'exposition au rayonnement est ainsi rendue plus petite que la grandeur du point d'arrivée réel des faisceaux, ce qui permet d'obtenir une haute résolution.
