Abstract:
(EN) When a thermoelectric temperature sensor includes a protective tube of metal-boride ceramic, an insulating tube for holding a platinum-rhodium thermocouple is inserted in a protection tube in order to prevent the thermocouple from being deteriorated by a reducing gas accompanying the oxidation of the protection tube at high temperatures. The tip of the insulating tube is covered with a cap made of a noble metal consisting chiefly of a metal of the group of platinum in order to prevent the reducing gas generated from the protection tube from arriving at the connection point of the thermocouple. To efficiently discharge the reducing gas, the upper end of the protection tube is made open, and a terminal box is equipped with ventilation means. The thermocouple-type temperature sensor features greatly extended life of the thermocouple. This makes it possible to continuously measure the temperature of the hot metal and the molten steel for extended periods of time.
(FR) Lorsqu'un capteur de température thermoélectrique comprend un tube protecteur en céramique au borure-métal, un tube isolant contenant un thermocouple en platine-rhodium est introduit dans un tube de protection afin d'empêcher toute détérioration du thermocouple par un gaz réducteur accompagnant l'oxydation du tube de protection à haute température. La pointe du tube isolant est recouverte d'un capuchon en métal noble, composé principalement d'un métal du groupe du platine, afin d'empêcher le gaz réducteur dégagé par le tube de protection d'arriver au point de connexion du thermocouple. Afin d'évacuer efficacement le gaz réducteur, l'extrémité supérieure du tube de protection est ouverte, et une boîte terminale est équipée d'un organe de ventilation. L'agencement de ce capteur de température du type à thermocouple permet d'accroître considérablement la durée de vie du thermocouple. Cela permet la mesure en continu et de longue durée de la température du métal très chaud et de l'acier en fusion.
