Abstract:
(EN) A process for the heterotrophic or predominantly heterotrophic production of whole-celled or extracted microbial products with a high concentration of omega-3 highly unsaturated fatty acids, producible in an aerobic culture under controlled conditions using biologically pure cultures of heterotrophic single-celled fungi microorganisms of the order Thraustochytriales. The harvested whole-cell microbial product can be added to processed foods as a nutritional supplement, or to fish and animal feeds to enhance the omega-3 highly unsaturated fatty acid content of products produced from these animals. The lipids containing these fatty acids can also be extracted and used in nutritional, pharmaceutical and industrial applications.
(FR) Procédé de fabrication hétérotrophique ou essentiellement hétérotrophique de produits microbiens à cellules entières ou extraites à concentration élevée d'acides gras oméga-3 fortement insaturés, pouvant être fabriqués à l'aide d'une culture aérobie dans des conditions controlées employant des cultures biologiquement pures de microorganismes fongiques de l'ordre Thraustochytriales. L'on peut ajouter le produit microbien à cellule unique ainsi récolté à des aliments industriels comme supplément nutritif, ou à des aliments pour poissons ou animaux de manière à améliorer le contenu en acides gras oméga-3 fortement insaturés de produits fabriqués à partir de ces animaux. L'on peut aussi extraire les lipides enfermant ces acides gras et les utiliser pour des applications dans les domaines nutritionnel, pharmaceutique et industriel.
