Abstract:
(EN) The invention relates to a method of compensating for crosstalk between adjacent charging electrodes (14) in an ink jet printer having multiple printing jets (12) or channels, each with one charging electrode (14). In order to provide a desired drop charge in a specific channel X, there is applied, to the corresponding charging electrode (14X), a charge potential VX which is compensated for in response to (i) any charge potentials VX-1 and VX+1 applied to charging electrodes (14X-1, 14X+1) of the nearest channel X-1 and X+1, respectively, on each side of the specific channel X, and (ii) in response also to at least charge potentials VX-2 and VX+2 applied to charging electrodes (14X-2, 14X+2) of the next nearest channel X-2 and X+2, respectively, on each side of the specific channel X. The compensation is achieved by selecting VX as equalling a value V(I) associated with a charge situation I at issue and included in a matrix of compensated predetermined potential values compiled by an iterative, or equivalent, technique.
(FR) Procédé de compensation des interférences entre les électrodes de charges adjacentes (14) se trouvant dans une imprimante à jet d'encre présentant des jets (12) ou des canaux d'impression multiple, dotés chacun d'une électrode de charge (14). Afin de produire la charge de goutte voulue dans un canal spécifique X, on applique à l'électrode de charge correspondante (14X), un potentiel de charge VX compensé en réponse à (i) n'importe quel potentiel de charge VX-1 et VX+1 appliqué aux électrodes de charge (14X-1, 14X+1) du canal le plus proche X-1 et X+1, respectivement, de chaque côté du canal spécifique X, et (ii) en réponse également au moins aux potentiels de charge VX-2 et VX+2 appliqués aux électrodes de charge (14X-2, 14X+2) du canal suivant le plus proche X-2 et X+2, respectivement, de chaque côté du canal spécifique X. La compensation est obtenue par sélection de VX de sorte qu'il est égal à une valeur V(I) associée à la situation de charge I en question, et elle est comprise dans une matrice de valeurs de potentiels prédéterminées compensées, compilées selon une technique itérative ou équivalente.
