Title (EN) IMPROVED FINISH SPRAY APPARATUS AND METHOD
(FR) APPAREIL ET PROCEDE AMELIORES DE PULVERISATION DE MATIERE DE FINISSAGE
Abstract:
(EN) This invention relates to an apparatus and method for recovery and/or disposing of overspray finishing materials. In particular, this invention relates to a type of finish material applying apparatus which has become known as a robotized spraying cabinet (115) and to methods of operating such an apparatus. In accordance with this invention, materials sprayed through a spray head (116) and which escape adherence to sprayed articles are directed to either a dry disposable honeycomb collection chamber or into a chilled receptacle (118) for recovery and recycling. The honeycomb structure provides improved air distribution which enhances the spraying operation. Where the spray materials are chilled to prevent polymerization, as many surfaces as possible are chilled to prevent the emission of volatile solvents.
