Abstract:
(EN) A method and composition for the inhibition of growth of $i(Salmonella) is provided. The effective composition of the invention is a composition which is fermented by microflora other than $i(Salmonella) at a rate competitively greater than $i(Salmonella) or which is fermented by microflora other than $i(Salmonella) to produce metabolites which inhibit the growth of $i(Salmonella). In one embodiment of the present invention, the effective composition is a class of fructo-oligosaccharides which inhibit the growth of $i(Salmonella). More particularly, the fructo-oligosaccharides are sucrose molecules having from 1 to 8 fructose residues. This class of sugars is exemplified by ''Neosugar'' which includes 1-kestose, nystose, and 1-fructofuranosyl-nystose. The present method includes contacting $i(Salmonella) with the effective composition and can include feeding it to a domestic food animal. The present composition includes the effective component and nutritive feed material.
(FR) L'invention concerne un procédé et une composition d'inhibition de la croissance de $i(Salmonella). La composition efficace de l'invention est une composition qui fermente en utilisant une microflore autre que $i(Salmonella) à une vitesse comparativement supérieure à celle de $i(Salmonella) ou qui est fermentée par une microflore autre que $i(Salmonella) pour produire des métabolites qui inhibent la croissance de $i(Salmonella). Dans un mode de réalisation de la présente invention, la composition efficace est une classe de fructo-oligosaccharides qui inhibent la croissance de $i(Salmonella). Plus particulièrement, les fructo-oligosaccharides sont des molécules de sucrose ayant entre 1 et 8 restes de fructose. Cette classe de sucres est représentée par l'exemple du ''Néosucre'' qui comprend 1-kestose, nystose et 1-fructofuranosyl-nystose. Le procédé de l'invention consiste à mettre en contact $i(Salmonella) avec la composition efficace et peut être donné comme aliment à un animal domestique.
