Abstract:
(EN) A motion and position control for use in a system (10) that includes a motor or other prime mover (12, 13) for moving a tool or other device (11) and a sensor (14, 15) that generates a signal representative of the position (Sx, Sy) of the device; the control comprises a sensor signal processor circuit (24) producing a sequence of pulse position count signals (Px, Py). Each pulse position count signal (Px, Py), which identifies the position of the device (11) at a given instant, is recorded in an up-down counter circuit (31-33, 35-37) that operates conjointly with a CPU (41) to generate a sequence of command signals, (Cnx, Cny), at a given sequence frequency, that are applied to the prime mover (12, 13). Each command signal for a given reference (e.g., Cnx for x) is determined by the difference between the desired pulse position value (Pd) and the current pulse position signal (Px), plus a drift factor (D) representative of system inertia, and the last previous command signal (Cn-1), all divided by two.
